Montana Secondary Highway 482, Farm to Market Road, is closed south of Libby. The National Weather Service reports approximately 6 inches of water is over the road on West 2nd Street by Parmenter Creek in the Libby area. NWS also reports the 5th Street bridge is underwater at Libby Creek and that the road is closed.
Thousands of people were evacuated during last week’s record flooding and Governor Bob Ferguson declared a state of emergency. Pierce County is asking residents and businesses impacted by the severe weather to report damages so it can get a better idea of the aftermath and coordinate recovery efforts.
Drier weather is coming, but flooding effects are likely to continue for days across portions of western Washington state and northwestern Oregon.
