"If you haven't had a visit to the Columbus Zoo recently, try seeing it during the winter on a weekday. The animals will love you for it! We saw so many cool behaviors, and we had the zoo all to ourselves (mostly) for hours. The baby elephants and baby manatees are wonderful! Red pandas are in their element, as are sea lions and harbor seals. Go see the neat exhibits while the docents have time to talk. You won't be sorry."

"We took about 11 kiddos (ages 7–11) to this park, and they had the best time with the animals! The owner, Gwen, and her staff are clearly passionate about sharing these amazing animals with everyone. Gwen even set up the party room for our kids and made sure each child had the chance to touch—and sometimes even hold—the animals. Some of them were brave enough to hold snakes! The team made the children feel completely safe while teaching them so much about each animal. There’s such a wide variety here—from sloths and tortoises to bears, monkeys, and so much more—and you get to see them all up close! I highly recommend this experience for small groups. And if you have a child who loves animals, this is the perfect place for a birthday party. You won’t be disappointed!"

"I took my family to Monkey Jungle when we were in Miami. Monkey Jungle is one of the Old Florida attractions that has been around long before the big attractions like Disney, etc. I like to visit these older attractions both for the sake of the attraction and for the history involved. Monkey Jungle is a zoo that has various kinds of monkeys. It seems like they are doing some rennovation on the place as not all of the monkeys were roaming freely. The Spider Monkeys and the Capuchins were in a free roaming habitat called the Amazonian Rainforest. The Diana Monkeys and the Mandrills were in enclosures. The Java Macaques were in a free roaming habitat that includes the monkey swimming pool area. The monkey swimming pool is a sort of Koi pond. We watched the presentation near the monkey swimming pool where they fed the Javas and they explained their behaviors. We didn't get to see any of them swim because they were a little nervous about the fish in the water. It was interesting to watch their social behavior. We also listened to the presentation about the Spider Monkeys and the Black-Capped Capuchins. It was all very interesting. There are also birds and reptiles in enclosures around the property. It did rain while we were there. Do be aware that many of the exhibits are not under cover so you may get wet if it rains. The area around the monkey swimming pool had a roof and there was a small tent by the tortoises. Off course the area around the entrance and gift shop was covered. When you enter you have the option to buy food to feed the monkeys. The food is mostly raisins and nuts. There are little feeding cups that dangle down on chains around various parts of the property. When you put food in the cup the monkeys come over and pull up the chain eat the food out of the cups. In these areas the cage is around the area for the humans while the monkeys are climbing on top of the enclosure. They watch carefully when people get near the cups and they come over and get the food. We did enjoy our visit to Monkey Jungle. We learned about monkeys and enjoyed watching them as they interacted with each other."
